Maybe that explains it
Did you see the Steelers throw back uniforms yesterday? Well they looked remarkably similar to my Halloween costume that I wore Friday to work. Interestingly enough, I won the prize (everybody got a prize) of "most likely to wear the same costume as a three year old". You want to know why my outfit looks like a three year old? Because it was for a three year old. Seriously, I had to buy the toddler wings and antenna because all the adult bee costumes looked like they were made for strippers. Perhaps all the real adult bee costumes were put to use by the Steelers. Either that or no other adults wanted to be bees. Or all other adults wanted to be slut bees. Guess I'll never know. I should have gone with my other idea of a corpse to go as "pushing daises" but I don't have enough energy to figure that one out.

Saturday Mornings
I love mornings. I thought it would be hectic once the girls got to this age, but it really works out great because they eat breakfast and hang out in their chairs and I am able to spend time with them all together (in a controlled space) while I get ready for work. I really love Saturday mornings when there are no time constraints. This is quite possibly the most boring video (to you) I will ever post, but this is how I've spent my morning. This plus coffee is about as good as it gets to me.

Confessions of a (former) Box Hoarder
It has been almost three years since the intervention. Anna Ruth grabbed me square by the shoulders and said "listen to me! you are a hoarder! you need help!". Then she slapped me.* It was Christmas time and the snow was falling in Mississippi.* Anna Ruth discovered what I had been hiding in my guest room closet. Boxes...and boxes....and more boxes....and tissue paper....and more tissue paper....and more tissue paper. Once the cat was out of the bag, I showed her the other hiding spot in the garage. HUNDREDS of boxes of all shapes, sizes, and possible uses. It was true. I was a box hoarder. Every time I received a gift or a package in the mail (every day) I would save the box and think "this would be a PERFECT box for X gift or Y storage". The only problem is they were never used, only collected. If I bought someone a gift, I had it gift wrapped. On the rare occasion I did not have it gift wrapped I would not use a box because I might need it in the future for something else.
With the support of Anna Ruth, I decided to stop the madness. She came to my house and helped me clean them all out but not before we took some photographic evidence. She let me keep a few. I would even try to sneak to the throw out pile and take some back, but she caught me.
To this day, every time I get a box in the mail (which currently is about 10 deliveries a week of baby crap) I think of its possibilities. And then I shed a tear* and put it in the recycle bin.
* slight exaggerations
A few select memories.....
You get the picture.
Now with all of the diapers, formula, wipes and baby food this is what a typical delivery day looks like. Can you imagine if I was still hoarding???

A Day in the Life
Just wanted to record playtime at 11 months. This is how they spend a good portion of the day that they are not eating or sleeping. They love ducks, ride a little horsey (they all bounce whether they are in the lap or not), "singing" and rocking to any music, and making loud noises of any kind.

My so-called (pinterest) Life
Because I need one more place to spend my time, I love to play around on Pinterest. Now if someone could come up with an app that teaches you how to actually get off of your ass and do all the things you pin on pinterest, that would be a real winner.
My pinterest life is a fairy tale. I eat lots of goat cheese and quinoa and wear really awesome boots and scarves. I have the perfect handbag and hair for every occasion. I garden and label all of my herbs with wine corks. I spend my time organizing things I didn't even know could be organized. Everything has its perfect place in my tidy and labeled drawers and cabinets. I create cute holiday crafts and home-make my Christmas cards. I have endless cute activities planned for the kids and I am full of meaningful and insightful quotes.
It is almost comical how opposite my real life is from my Pinterest life. In the last 24 hours of my real life: I have eaten pimento cheese for 5 meals in a row, I wouldn't have changed out of my pajamas except for the fact I've been puked on a few times, finding a pair of scissors or AA batteries for one of the 5,000 toys on the floor of the playroom is damn near impossible due to all of the crap in my kitchen drawers, my ferns haven't been watered for weeks and are only surviving (barely) because the occasional wind and rain combined has blown some drops on them, last week's laundry is still stacked in the basket on the floor next to the continuously unmade bed, my purse is so old that I recently discovered a hole in the lining with 5 lost lip glosses hidden down there, and the last six weeks of mail is stacked on the coffee table waiting for my attention. Seriously - I just tried to count the things in this room that are out of place and I lost track because the count got so high.
I guess that is why Pinterest is so successful - it gives you an escape from chaos into an organized, healthy, and stylish world.
I completely love my chaos but after the girls go to bed I also love to drink wine and live in My so-called (pinterest) Life. Maybe some day I'll start working on some of those projects. Until someone comes up with that get off your ass app I think I'll just browse and pretend.

Why I am a blog slacker
Because I have taken on a second job as a referee. Between babies and other babies and between babies and various objects. Even in the childproof room where they are confined I am constantly having to get them out of trouble. Gone are the days of peacefully playing in one place.
They are truly hilarious and so fun right now. And really cute (of course I am biased).
Photos of all are almost impossible. As soon as I put them down they are gone. I attempted to take a group shot tonight.
Life has been hectic, but fun, lately. Between three home football games in a row, sick babies (that part was not fun), and a work trip for me to Boston - September has flown by. I missed the girls while I was away but I must say it was nice to spend a solo evening walking around the city, shopping, eating, and reading. This pretty much sums up a top night for me:
We've taken them to the grove twice and it was not as much of a hassle as I thought it would be. Their grandmothers are both so great and have kept them while we go to games. Anna Ruth put some grove pics on her blog.
And I will leave you with this shirt I spotted on my trip:
